Simple Recipe: Add to Coconut or Almond Milk

E-mail Print PDF

If you're not going to make your own coconut or almond milk then you're probably familiar with the selection of flavors in stores. The milks are offered in chocolate, vanilla, and original flavors. Most of the time, without thinking I grab for the plain and unsweetened. Once in a while, I get a guilty feeling (and feel like loving over my shoulder). Asking myself, what if I just have it a little sweet, while quickly glancing at vanilla. Too bad there is so much extra sugar in the flavored coconut and almond milks. The vanilla flavors comes from a bean, independent from sugar and sweetening. There is quick solution for adding the lovely taste of vanilla.

Simple Recipe for Favored Coconut or Almond Milk

  • 1 can or carton of unsweetened coconut or almond milk
  • For the can only - Add 1/2 can of water
  • 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract
  • Optional - if you must increase the sweetness - add 2 tsp honey with a pinch of salt
Steps: Add all of the above. Stir. Enjoy. At room temperature the honey will dissolve easily in the mixture.
